Examples of Childrens TV Drama from the late 70's onwards


Grange Hill 
created by Phil Redmond in 1978
Was based in a fictional comprehensive school of Grange Hill.
It followed the lives of students in daily lives and followed their progress through school.
The Last episode of Grange Hill was broadcast on the 15th September 2008... it had been running for 30 years and became one of the longest running TV programme's in British Television.
It was broadcast on cbbc on bbc 1 and bbc 2 during afterschool hours.

Based on the book written by Jaqueline Wilson
Ran for five series on Cbbc- from 2002-2006
Follows a 10 year old girl who is placed in a childrens home.

Byker Grove
created by Adele Rose in 1989
Byker grove was broadcast until 2006
It was shown on cbbc on bbc 1 and bbc 2 during afterschool hours.
Byker Grove was based on a fictional youth club set in Newcastle.
