I have researched DVD covers from Byker Grove, Grange Hill and a more recent from the Sarah Jane Adventures. All of these examples follow what I have noticed as conventions of most DVD Covers, firstly having the main protagonist(s) at the front as a focus, this enables the audience to recognise the show.
All of these examples use simplistic designs which I feel would be effective in the sale and distribution of the product. Using bright bold colours to attract and hold the attention of the audience.
When designing the DVD cover of my series I will incorporate these conventions but I will try to develop them and alter them to suit the style of my TV drama.
