Research- Questionnaire 1- Results
I asked 20 children between the ages of 9-14. I asked 8 Boys and 12 Girls. I asked this particular group of children because they fit to my target audience
Favorite TV Show-
This chart tells me that Tracy Beaker and Young Dracula are the two most popular TV Programmes. Also it tells me that Byker Grove is not the favorite.
When I create my Children's Drama I know that School Based Drama's which focus on a large collective of characters aren't as popular as ones which focus on one or two main characters.
Characteristics of Characters
This chart tells me that the most popular characteristics that appeal to those i questioned were Likable, Nice Funny Loud Bubbly.
When creating my characters i hope to be able to incorporate these ideas.
Problems/ Issues faced by characters
This chart shows me that the 3 main issues that my target audience want the main characters to face are Bullying, Issues with school and issues with friends, I believe these are the most popular because they are more common issues to relate to.
I hope to be able to incorporate some of these ideas into my plot as i believe that my target audience will be more likely to enjoy my drama if i include issues that many of them will have or will face in the future.
Location / Setting
This chart shows me that the two most popular locations are School and the Town. When creating my drama i will try to set my plot in one or both of these locations, I might also use a house as a setting also, although this did not receive such a positive reaction as the other two locations.
When I am producing my Childrens Drama I will incorporate similar ideas to the one that my target audience favored in this case similar to Tracey beaker; live action focusing on one or two main characters and following a continuous story, I have chosen to do this as according to this questionnaire it is the most positive way of marketing my new drama to my target audience.

Plot
The plot of my children’s TV drama follows two girls Amy who is a 16 year old school girl and Katy her imaginary best friend. Katy was created by Amy after a severe day of being tormented by school bullies, feeling alone Amy brought back her old imaginary best friend as she felt she was the only true one who understands her.
Amy is the only one who can see Katy, and no one else knows of Katy’s existence. The audience is often shown Katy and Amy together but Katy soon seemingly disappears in the presence of others, this is to show she’s in Amy’s mind.
The season would follow Amy battling things many teenagers go through bullying, first love, broken hearts, struggling at school. All the while being supported by her best, but imaginary friend Katy.
As the season goes on Amy begins to see she doesn’t need katy as much as she used to as she starts to make new friends and discovers herself.
Treatment
In the title sequence we feature two main characters Amy and Katy. First we are shown two close up shots one of their feet and one of a hand playing with the grass. These are enigmatic shots.
Our next shot is of our two characters laughing; this would be of a mid shot from above. This is how our characters are introduced to the audience.
We (as the audience) then proceed to follow the two girls in several different locations walking through a field a playground and at school etc.
In many of the shots we shall see both of the girls then something or someone will block the camera, when we return or the block has moved we shall be left with only one character (Amy) to show that Katy is in Amy’s mind only.

Research- Questionnaire 2 - Review of First Draft
Questionnaire 2
(To be completed after watching first draft of Playground Games)
1. Did you understand the plot of the show after watching the title sequence? If no why?
Yes / No
2. What emotions did this video make you feel? Give examples of what parts made you feel this way?
3. Do you think that the soundtrack was in keeping with the theme of the show? Why?
4. If you could change one thing on this title sequence what would it be? Why?
Research- Questionnaire 2 - Review of First Draft- Results
I asked 20 people between the ages of 9 and 14. I asked 8 boys and 12 girls, I chose this particular age group as this is my target audience. These children were also the same as I questioned in my first questionnaire, the purpose of this questionnaire was to see how these children responded to my title sequence which was created using there ideas from Questionnaire 1.
This Chart shows that 11 people understood what the plot of the show was from the title sequence, this means that 9 people were unsure of what the plot was. Some of the reasons I received for why this was are below.
Person A) No I didn't understand the plot of the show because we aren't told much about each of the characters, and I found it confusing when she kept disappearing.
Person B) I was unsure why she vanished, I thought she was a ghost.
Question 4 asks what things would my audience change and the reasons why. Here are there responses.
Person D) I would change the colour when Amy is alone to black and white or change it so it isn't as bright as this would show more sadness.
Person A) I would make the plot easier to understand by instead of Katy just disappearing she fades slightly so it shows she's invisible but the audience can still see her.
Person F) I would have the names of the actors during the title sequence e.g Amy- Melissa Down.
Evaluation
These results have shown me that in the future I need to establish the plot of my title sequence more clearly as some of those I questioned were unsure. However I do feel that I have served the purpose of my title sequence as many of my audience stated that they were interested in what was going happen next therefore this tells me that I succeeded in my task to keep the attention of my audience.
In the future would maybe try to change the colour when Amy is alone to a dull or a b/w to show that Katy brightens up her world. This will show that she is happy when Katy is around.

This second chart shows how my title sequence affected my audience and what emotions it made them feel.
8 out of the 20 people I questioned said it made them feel Happy, 3 out of the 20 said it made them feel sad. These are the two emotions I was aiming to capture from my audience as this is how I feel Amy and Katy's story makes you feel, when they're together it makes you happy as they are happy and enjoying themselves but when apart and Amy is alone you (as the audience) are left feeling sad and lonely.
An anomaly became apparent as 6 out of the 20 of my audience said they felt "interested" I believe they mean they felt engaged and wanted to know the next part of the story although interested itself may not be considered an emotion such as anger happiness etc.
Examples of some of the moments of that made them feel these particular emotions were:
Person C) When Amy was left on her own, it makes you feel sad as you can imagine she's very lonely as she's lost her best friend.
Person D) When they are swinging and laughing you feel happy as you can see by there expressions that they're enjoying themselves and you can relate to this.
This chart shows that 12 of the 20 people thought that the soundtrack was in keeping with the theme of the show which says that 8 people believed that it wasn't . The purpose of the soundtrack/ theme tune in my title sequence was to make the audience feel the emotion that the characters portray.

Reasons/ Comments of why
Person E) I didn't think the music was in keeping with the theme because it's too sad and it would be better if it was a more upbeat tune.
Person F) I enjoyed the theme song and thought it went well it goes well with both the happy and sad moments of the programme .
